The iHEARD project is dedicated to dismantling barriers to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Malawi, who are particularly vulnerable to SRHR violations.

 

Overview

A project by the consortium of health, education and communication partners co-led by

CODE and Firm Radio International (FRI) in partnership with FAWEMA, FRT, Viamo, Girl Effect, MSI, BLM, WCF and Mai Khanda, the project has been implemented since September 2021 with funding from Global Affairs Canada (GAC).

Increased uptake of SRHR information and services by AGYWs


Impact

87,500 calls from the adolescents

34 HCP trained in youth friendly service provision

40,000 adolescents accessing SRH information

11% of  Centres FP clients –adolescents

25% of Centres clients referred by Call centre

39 HCP trained in SGBV
