PROJECTS

Projects Overview
Banja La Mtsogolo works across Malawi to ensure that women and girls receive the information and health care the need to live healthy lives and reach their potential no matter where they live. BLM works with the Malawi government, partners and civil society across Malawi, as well as donors across the globe to implement high quality projects supporting women’s health care. BLM’s work focuses on reproductive health and rights, maternal healthcare, HIV treatment and prevention.
BLM works at community level to address barriers to uptake of health care. This is done by challenging harmful gender and social norms, organising infotainment youth events, working with gate keepers like religious leaders and traditional leaders, organising health talks in partnership with Life Skills teachers for Primary and Secondary School students, challenging harmful laws and policies impacting SRHR service provision and uptake. BLM also works with national media houses to organize health talks on different SRHR topics from menstruation to menopause. Finally, BLM has a contact center that accepts voice calls through a toll free line 1131 plus social messages on WhatsApp at 0880 185 060.
